Data failure! be ready to be get it secured

Data centre which most of present company possess, no matter managed by anyone need to know, how data can be handled, analyze your space requirement according to your IT function, look for optimal design wherein it is designed keeping low carbon and high efficiency to meet the environmental standards. thereby avoid data centre failure says Barry Elliot from Capitoline LLP UK

While every two weeks, somewhere in the world , a major data centre suffers a major breakdown and loss of availability of data with an average downtime of 17 hours these breakdown can be avoidable with better design and procedures in place says Barry Elliot from Capitoline LLP UK, Data centre physical infrastructure international expert, speaking on the occasion of Building Industrial Consulting Services International (BISIC) conference.

While causes for much of data failures according to reports available in various media ,it is attributed to either unexplained power failure, change to router, thieves stole fibre cable, leading fire suppression gas, UPS caught fire, or building failure, flood caused by rainstorm, zinc whiskers, high external temperatures, cyber attack, major IT equipment failure, sabotage.

To cite two exampleIn year 2001 February Wikipedia data centre at USA failure resulted due to external power failure wherein data centre was out of action for 1 hour, in August IBM centre at Singapore data centre, failure resulted in disk storage and data centre was out of action for 7 hours.

According to sources collected through various means Elliot said overall 52 major data centre failures in 36 months, and that’s just the one’s made public, if we presume this at best half of all failures then data canters goes down somewhere every 2 weeks everywhere that’s excluding individual equipment.

“The better way to avoid failure is by designing and building Data centre under European Norms 50173-5, Building Industrial Consulting Services International 002, , Telecommunication International of America 942, think about location, proper maintenance plans, testing of all systems, not just components, adequate fire suppression methods, monitoring business processes, do business continuity risk assessment, have a disaster recovery plan, audit the whole process” said Elliot.

“Data centre which company possess, no matter managed by anyone need to know, how data can be handled, analyse your space requirement according to your IT function, look for optimal design wherein design it is designed keeping low carbon and high efficiency to meet the environmental standards, working at Connectix, Brand –Rex and Novar Plc all coming under Computer Networking industry we were able to do it”.

When asked about presence in India Barry Elliot said “Capitoline having presence in India for last one and half year, we have able to provide consulting services, and train companies in Information and Telecommunication sector in India like Sigma Byte, TVS-ICS (Information Communication System) TYCO Electronics, Belden and Space Matrix,
