Organic farming to ensure sustainable agriculture

Govt is committed to encourage organic farming and in this direction considering development of agriculture along with organic farming, state is committed to allocate Rs 200 crore said DV Sadananda Gowda

Government direction in agriculture was mainly aimed at “agriculture self sufficiency attained by using agro-chemical fertiliser it has caused lot of damage to “ecological system, water, soil erosion to loss of fertility” said DV Sadananda Gowda Chief Minister Inaugurating the three day
Bio Fach India 2011 Organic Trade Fair from 10 to 12th November 2011

The fair jointly organised by Nurnberg Messe, Germany in co-operation with Department of Agriculture Karnataka Government and International Competence Centre for Organic Farming (ICCOA)

Gowda in his speech mentioned of however of the pitfalls the famers are waging from “chemical fertiliser costing the farmer enough burden” also the “the experience in India and abroad and organic farming movement in Karnataka itself that is continuously been going on shown that sustainable agriculture can be had through organic farming”.

“The area under organic farming being under 70,000 hectare in Karnataka and lakh farmers having made organic farming as the method of agriculture practice has only encouraged the organic farming in the state” said DVS Gowda.

Gowda however mentioned of the initiative taken under former CM BS Yedyurappa “ of allocating Rs 2 crore in last budget under BS Yedyurappa for organic farming”

Which he said however will be continued under his government as to allocation made for the organic farming “to encourage organic farming govt will give boost by allocating Rs 200 crore for organic farming in ensuing year”

“Policy will be framed to see Organic farming outlets is in place , latest technology and resources be available to farmers” that step he said “will encourage easily accessible of technology and resources which encourage more farmers to take organic farming”

D.V.S Gowda mentioning of the Global Agricultural Investors Meet to be held in 1st and 2nd December 2011 under the government called on the delegates who had come from other states of India like Jharkhand representative from agricultural ministry from Germany who have been in the trade fair to take part in the Global Agricultural Investors Meet 2011 in Bangalore

The three day organic trade fair had industry conglomerates from organic farming sectors and trade representatives in this sectors who had put the stalls ranging from Ecobuddy Exports India, Geo Fresh Organics, Spices Board of India, Morakka Organic.

Biocart India Pvt Ltd, and from Germany leaders in organic industry like Schnitzer, Barnhouse Naturprodukt, Rapunzel Naturukost, , Westform, Beutsaftkeller, Azafron Innovacion.

While the seminar will take place on the sidelines of the trade fair, relating to organic sector ranging from technology, expertise needed in the sector, market avenues.

Also present on the occasion of inaugurating of the trade fair D.Chandre Gowda MP BJP, Ms Vandita Sharma Principal Secretary Agriculture Govt of Karnataka, Dr Sarvesh Director Department of Agriculture, Karnataka govt, Pratap Singh Director of Horticulture Govt of Kerala, Umesh Katti Agriculture minster Govt of Karnataka, M.Ravindranath Minsiter of Horticulture Govt of Karnataka.

About Bio Fach and Organic Trade Fair

Bio Fach which is organising the trade fair is international repute trade fair, organised by ministry of commerce Germany every year, this organic fair is organised every year in country like Japan, US, China, India to a name a few where organic farming movement has been given boost by respective govt,

In India, Bio Fach is constantly started to organise trade fair, it has been organising the Organic trade fair in Mumbai, Bangalore event got significance in the light of the latest trade fair.

The last time Bio Fach organised the trade fair in Bangalore was in 2005, while the Organic trade fair is organised in Bangalore previously under the name of “India Organic Trade Fair” which was annual event.

This was the first event of the international stature organised in Bangalore under the name of Bio Fach, with Nurenberg Messe taking the lead in organising the trade fair
